The Liquid Vitamin Supplement

Not many years ago the liquid vitamin supplement was unheard of. I remember the advent of the pills years ago and later on the capsule. With constant competition for market share a new and improved product the liquid vitamin supplement surfaced.

The alarming fact is that foods (fruits, vegetables and grains) now being raised on millions of acres of land no longer contain enough nutrients to avoid starving us no matter how much of them we eat. No man of today can eat enough fruits and vegetables to supply his system with the dietary needs he requires for perfect health because his stomach isn't big enough to hold them.

Improved nutrition has contributed to better health. A key has been the discovery and understanding of our nutritional needs. For example, the deficiency diseases beriberi, pellagra, scurvy and rickets can be resolved or avoided by a balanced diet with adequate vitamins B, C and D. Also, as doctors have become more involved with nutritional research, reports have appeared about other diseases that seem to respond to large amounts of certain vitamins and minerals given under medical supervision.

Unfortunately, as stated in the 1996 Physician's Desk Reference (page 1542), the body only absorbs 10 to 20 percent of the nutrients found in traditional pills and capsules. Capsules and pills are quickly becoming something of the past.

That 10-20% goes even lower as we age (especially we seniors darn it) as we have a heck of a lot less stomach acid required to break down these pills and capsules.

Thus the case for the liquid vitamin and minerals which have a 98% absorption rate, literally 5 -10 times that of standard pills and capsules.
